about

I must admit I suffer a lot from seasonal affective disorder and I know a lot of other people who do to. Needless to say I nicked the title from Willie Shakespeare.

lyrics

Verse 1
It’s dark when I rise and when I get home
So I turn on the standard lamp
‘Coz the fluorescent lights at work kill my soul
And I leave the building sapped of life
You light a fire to cheer me up
I say ‘I like it’ but I still look glum
Now is the winter of discontent

Verse 2
It’s usually cold so we stay indoors
And if it’s not we tend to talk about
How global warming is affecting us all
We should have heeded all the warning signs
Yeh I am grateful for all that we have
But all my rainbows turn to shades of black
During this winter of discontent

Mid
And Christmas comes
And Christmas goes
And then comes on
Those January blues
And I don’t know
Why I feel this way
But I do
Anyway…..

Verse 3
A new year should bring plenty of hope
But it’s no different than the year before
Just a different number on the year of the date
Of the bills that flood through your front door
I’ve given up trying trying to figure out why
I can’t find the bright side of this darkened time
Now is the winter of discontent
Now is the winter of discontent
