One the oldest of the songs on the album. Written way back in 2004. One of the first songs I wrote when I was going to Dublin songwriter nights. I had the title for ages and had always wanted to write some sort of feel-good summery song – hence the bah-bahs. Another one that we played live with Alanalda. Jackie Hayden of Hot Press once compared it to the Troggs when we played it live in Wexford... which was nice.

Verse 1
The city is moving too fast.
They say there's no dignity in finishing last.
The traffic is wrecking my head.
Feels like an overpass is undergoing contruction
Over my bed.

Chorus 1
So let's not go into work
Or at least be late.
Let's jump around the open space.
Just think about it - what's the worst
That could happen us?
We can take a shortcut thru the park.

The summer is moving too fast.
No we can't sleep no more
Or take a break on the grass.
We haven't spoken since we got new jobs.
Let's not attend and just pretend we haven't noticed
That old lady's getting robbed.

In the morning once again you can tell your boss
That you've come down with stomach pains.
And if he sends you home again please don't take the bus.
We can take a shortcut thru the park.

And in the morning once again I will call you up
And ask you if you can be late.
Just twenty minutes of your time. We can both escape.
