about

Previously-unreleased acoustic number recorded by the original three-piece Alanalda ensemble. A crowd favourite on the Dublin singer-songwriter scene, the track features Dermot O'Leary on acoustic guitar and vocals, Dylan Curran on violin and electric guitar and Pauline Freeman on cello. Originally recorded in late 2006 in Jon Leddon's front room. Engineered, mixed and mastered by Jon Leddon.

lyrics

Not since the day that we danced at your wedding
Have you been able to look straight at me
Your husband is perfectly happy knows nothin'
He doesn't know of the chemistry

Between me and his wife
Who I've loved all her life

Not since the day that we tried your new bedding
You were sixteen and I was a half
Year older than you but that counts for nothing
Your father was deaf and he didn't suspect a thing

Between me and his girl
Who became my world

Not since the day that they finished the betting
On who you would marry from our little town
Have I forgotten our love counts for nothing
You married into the king and his crown

Between you and him
Yeah there's mountains of me
